It was close, but no cigar, for a proposal to build a new police station in Norwalk.
A measure that would have allocated $45 million to build the new station failed at the ballot box, with 51 percent of voters saying "no."
The station would have been built at the current location of a skatepark, something that
did not rest well with some voters.
Another issue, the $45 million price-tag would have cost residents an extra $120 in taxes each year for the next 30 years.
