Rocky Hill, Conn./WTIC Radio - A compensation agreement has been reached between the state attorney general and the managers of an apartment complex in Rocky Hill.

JRK Property Holdings, the group that manages the Concierge complex, has agreed to a $5.1 million relief package for residents who were driven from their homes this winter due to a raft of issues.

State Attorney General William Tong launched an initial investigation early this month when problems with sheetrock, broken water pipes, and other problems cropped up, forcing the town to temporarily condemn the buildings.

Residents were forced to move to hotels or seek other lodging.

Highlights of the agreement include cash payments to residents between $1,100 and $1,700 per unit for Buildings A, B, and C.

Also, those who want to leave will be able to break their leases without penalty.

“I am pleased that today’s announcement will provide many displaced tenants with immediate resolution. I look forward to working with the Attorney General to hold JRK accountable for better communication, maintenance and the ensuring the health and safety of residents over the long term,” said Rocky Hill Mayor Allan Smith.
