BRISTOL, CONN.(WTIC Radio)-A Plainville woman faces arraignment today on criminal attempt at murder with special circumstances and other charges for entering the Bristol Police lobby Thursday night
and opening fire into the unoccupied lobby desk window.
Bullet-resistant windows stopped the rounds from penetrating. The suspect, Suzanne Laprise, 51, continued to fire at Bristol officers while they tried to negotiate with her.
Police used a taser and then took Laprise into custody. She was hospitalized and released into police custody this morning.
She also faces weapons violations and charges including criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and breach of peace.
Her bond is $3 million and she'll be arraigned in New Britain Superior Court today.
The incident closed the Bristol Police lobby for walk-in complaints, allowing for repairs and maintenance. Anyone needing assistance should contact the dispatch center at 860-584-3011.
