West Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - The plan to move the whale sculpture outside the Connecticut Children's Museum in West Hartford is going in another direction.
Instead, the tail will be placed at the Trout Brook Greenway according to the Cetacean Society International.
The sculpture had graced the Museum at it's former location for nearly 50 years.
Officials say the cost to move the whole sculpture--60 feet long and 20 tons-- would have run in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
In a statement, the CSI said "we believe the best way to preserve Conny’s legacy and a significant portion of its structure is to remove its tail and install it on the Trout Brook Greenway, across the street from its current location."
