Manchester, Conn./WTIC Radio - It was a record-breaking performance at the 86th running of the Manchester Road Race today.
Organizers say they expected about 10-thousand runners to turn out and navigate the 4.7-mile course.
When it was over, Conner Mantz of Provo, Utah set the course record with an unofficial time of 21-minutes 3-seconds.
"It was a grind out there. I didn't expect it to be much of a battle", said Mantz afterward.
For the women, 25-year-old Weini Kelati came out on top.
"To hear a lot of people standing and cheering for you is amazing", said Kelati.
It was her second consecutive win in Manchester.
