SHELTON, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut State Police identify the Bridgeport woman killed in a crash on Route 8 in Shelton early Wednesday morning.
Police say Joan Marie Forgas, 32, of Bridgeport, had parked her car between the right lane and right shoulder around 12:13 a.m. Thursday.
For an unknown reason, State Police say Forgas was in the right lane when a BMW struck both Forgas and the Jeep Grand Cherokee she had been driving.
Forgas was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the BMW that hit Forgas wasn't injured.
Both vehicles were damaged so badly they had to be towed from the scene.
Police are investigating the circumstances that led up to the crash.
