Police say the 16-year-old boy had been playing basketball with his friends around Read Street and Shelton Avenue.
Then, while the teen was standing in the driveway of his home on Shelton Avenue, the police say someone opened fire.
Police and other responders arriving on the scene rushed the teen to the hospital. But it is there, where he has now been declared dead.
Not yet determined is whether the teen was the intended target of the shooter, who is still on the loose.
