DANBURY, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Connecticut State Police are assisting Danbury Police in investigating a shooting that injured a teenage girl Wednesday evening.
Around 7:02 p.m. Wednesday, Danbury Police responded to reports of shots fired at the Danbury Fair mall near Macy's.
A 16-year-old girl was found shot in her upper chest area. She was reportedly alert and conscious. Her condition is unknown.
Police put the mall on lockdown and began to investigate.
It remains unclear how many suspects are involved.
Connecticut State Police are asking people to avoid the area but say the situation is under control as of 9:45 p.m.
