WATERBURY, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - The City of Waterbury is addressing a water main break that is causing disruptions since it happened Wednesday.
Thomaston Street is closed between Manville and Boyden Streets until further notice while crews work on repairing the main.
Drivers are urged to avoid this section of Thomaston Avenue if at all possible, as detours will be in place and delays are expected.
Sprague Elementary School is located near the work zone. The school district has notified the busing company of the detour that will be required to access the school. Families driving students should anticipate delays and are asked to allow extra time and exercise patience.
Since the most recent update, no residents are reported without water.
The city says some customers may notice discolored water. If that happens, residents are advised to run their faucets until the water is clear.
