WESTBROOK, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut State Police are investigating a deadly Wednesday afternoon crash in Westbrook.
Troopers say Michael Suyla, 76, of Clinton, drove a 2009 Honda Civic through a stop sign on Route 1 near the Hammock Road North intersection around 3:33 p.m. Wednesday, hitting a 2005 Ford F-150.
Sutyla was seriously injured in the crash and was taken to the Middlesex Shoreline Clinic for treatment where he died shortly after arrival.
A passenger who was in the Ford may have had minor injuries and was taken to the same facility for an evaluation and treatment.
The driver of the Ford reported no injuries.
