Woman injured in Torrington after she was assaulted, run over

Torrington, Conn./WTIC Radio - A woman is under arrest after Torrington police say she ran over another woman during an altercation Saturday afternoon.

Officers were called to Turner Avenue just before 1:30 p.m.

They found 61-year-old Wanda Garceau lying in the road with serious injuries.

She's now in stable condition at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury.

According to police, Garceau got into a physical altercation with Ciara Egeter after Egeter was told to slow down while driving at a high rate of speed.

She allegedly assaulted Garceau's daughter and another woman, after which Egeter took off with Garceau holding on to the passenger side door and dragging the victim.

Egeter faces a number of charges, including assault, breach of peace and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bond was set at $500,000.

She's due in court September 5.
