(WWJ) FBI agents, Michigan State Police and local police raided the homes of University of Michigan pro-Palestine activists in Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, and Canton on Wednesday.

That's according to the TAHRIR Coalition, who said in a news release that law enforcement officers arrived in unmarked vehicles, pulling up to the three locations at around 8 a.m.

The officers were equipped with warrants issued by the Michigan Attorney Generals Office.

No arrests were made, but the TAHRIR Coalition — which is a pro-Palestine rights group at UofM — said activists were handcuffed was their homes were searched.

TAHRIR Coalition said the officers confiscated electronics, and questioned and detained two activists, who were later released from their Ann Arbor residence.

The group said officers from the Michigan Department of the Attorney General, the Plymouth Police Department, and the FBI raided an Ypsilanti home, confiscating personal belongings, and detaining four people who were later released.

In Canton, a third home was raided by the FBI and local police, but no one was detained, TAHRIR said.

Canton Police officials did confirm that it has officers at a scene along Scarborough Road, south of Cherry Hill. They said that there is an investigation in the area, but would disclose any details

FBI officials also confirmed they were "conducting law enforcement activities" in Ypsilanti on Wednesday, but declined to provide any details.

Police are not commenting further on the raids at this time, directing questions to the Attorney General’s Office.

There is currently no word on how many warrants were issued, who specifically is being investigated, or what they were searching for.

The AG's office said the raids were not related to immigration, although the office did not immediately release any more information.
