WINTER STORM WATCH

Connecticut (WTIC RADIO) Forecasters say a winter storm watch will take effect Sunday afternoon through Monday morning for most of Connecticut
in the first major storm of the season. Some parts of Connecticut will see at least 8 inches of snow by Monday morning.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation has more than 600 plows and salt spreaders ready to hit the roads and highways. Driving is expected to be very slippery, so authorities say it you don't have to drive--stay off the roads.

If you find yourself on the road behind a snow plow do not try to pass the plow. DOT officials say to drive 300 feet behind the plows on the highway.
And a reminder, temperatures are expected to drop dramatically as the storm pulls away on Monday which means roads will remain icy so take it slow.
