(WWJ) The body of a second missing youth has been found after a tragic weekend on Lake Michigan.
The body of 17-year-old Christian Ngabo of Grand Rapids, was recovered Monday morning, according to authorities, after he was last seen struggling in the water at Holland State Park Saturday evening.
"Our dive teams were out there since approximately 7 o'clock this morning," said Ottawa County Sheriff's Office Captain Jake Sparks. The Michigan State Police and the Allegan County Sheriff's Office also had some assets out there helping us."
Ngabo went missing after swimming with his older brother and they both began to struggle, Sparks said. When Ngabo's brother started to swim back, people nearby threw him a floatation device and he made it to shore.
In a separate incident, divers found the body of 6-year-old Iain Rowe, of Ferrysburg at the park last night along the rocks just north of the Holland Channel.
Sparks said there were reports of waves about 6 feet high and reports of some "possible rip currents" in the area over the weekend.
He said they're relieved they were able to provide closure for both families.
Foul play is not suspected in either case.
