MT. CLEMENS (WWJ) - An investigation is underway following an alleged assault by an employee at Mt. Clemens High School.
Confirming the incident in an email to WWJ Newsradio 950, Mount Clemens Community Schools Superintendent Teresa Davis said it involved a student and a "paraprofessional," a term for someone who acts as a teacher's aide.
Davis added that the employee in question is no longer working for the school district, and has been banned from any future assignments. His or her name was not released.
A source familiar with the situation told WWJ that a student was slapped and that police were called to the school, although those details were not immediately confirmed by school officals. No serious injuries were reported.
It's unclear if any charges are possible. The Macomb County Sheriff's Office said it is investigating the incident, but that no arrests have been made.
