MACKINAC ISLAND (WWJ) - The days of long lines and waiting all day at the Secretary of State's office will soon be things of the past.
Michigan is expanding the option for residents to schedule appointments to every branch office across the state. Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson said anyone who makes an appointment for services like renewing a license, registering a vehicle or registering to vote will get in and out of a branch in less than 30 minutes.

— Jocelyn Benson (@JocelynBenson) May 30, 2019The Department of State currently offers appointments in 43 branches. The appointment option will be expanded to the remaining 88 branches in phases beginning in mid-June.
As the expansion is phased in, residents can schedule appointments at their convenience by selecting the day, time and location they would like to visit at Michigan.gov/SOSAppointments.
