BERKLEY (WWJ) - Police in Oakland County's Berkley are looking for a man who allegedly tried to kiss a stranger.
It happened Thursday, near Angell Elementary located at Cummings and Beverly, in the area of 12 Mile Rd. and Greenfield.
Berkley Police Det. Lt. Andrew Hadfield told WWJ's Michael Cohen that the victim was sitting in her car when she taken by surprise.
"A resident was outside the elementary school, waiting for school to get out, when an 18 to 23-year-old white male walked up to her vehicle, kinda reached inside," Hadfield said. "She thought he was trying to give her a kiss, and she kind of stopped him."
"At that point he left the area, walking away from the school."
The suspect is described as having short brown hair, no facial hair and a husky build. He was wearing black shorts, a black shirt and white tennis shoes. He was also seen by another resident who described him as having a "weird stare."
"After further conversation with her, she was unsure if he had a mental disability," Hadfield said. "(She) didn't think that he was in a violent way trying to approach her, but maybe in a friendly or like he knew her type of situation."
At this point, Hadfield said, they simply want to talk to the suspect about the incident.
