DETROIT (WWJ) - A Detroit man has been charged with raping an 11-year-old girl.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office says the victim in the case is the daughter of 50-year-old Darrell Harris's ex-girlfriend. The woman allegedly uncovered evidence of sexually abusive behavior toward the girl in December and contacted police.

It's alleged that Harris raped the girl on two separate occasions in July and August at a location in the 5500 block of Coplin, on the east side near Chandler Park Drive and Chalmers Street.

Harris was charged Thursday with two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct and given an $150,000 bond. He's due back in court Feb. 20 for a probable cause hearing.

Prosecutor Kym Worthy says she will present more evidence at the preliminary examination, scheduled for Feb. 27.
