DETROIT (WWJ) - Security guards in downtown Detroit will be walking off the job Thursday as they strike over wages and other issues.
The workers are calling for union rights and a $15 per hour wage.

— Mike Campbell (@reportermikec) June 13, 2019In a show of solidarity with striking officers, SEIU Local 1 janitors and members of Detroit Metro AFL-CIO affiliates will also not cross the picket lines, refusing to clean and service affected buildings.
The security guards work for SecurAmerica, which staffs dozens of prominent buildings downtown, including the First National Building, One Campus Martius, One Woodward, Chrysler House, Chase Tower, Ally Center and the Federal Reserve building.
