(WWJ) - More rape charges have been brought against a Farmington Hills man who is currently serving time for assaulting a woman at a mid-Michigan golf resort.

The Mecosta County Sheriff's Department says the latest charges against 35-year-old Daniel Carlson are related to the alleged sex assault of a second victim in March 2016 at the Tullymore Resort in Morton Township, southeast of Big Rapids. He was arraigned Monday via video on charges of first- and third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Investigators say Carlson was a manager at the resort at the time of the attack. He was charged last year with raping the first victim in this incident.

Carlson is currently serving 5 to 15 years in prison after being convicted in 2018 on rape charges from an incident in October 2016 that also occurred at the resort. In that case, investigators say he drugged and raped a woman at a Halloween party.

He remains in prison with an added $1 million bond. A preliminary hearing on the two separate multi-count rape charges is set for early April.

Investigators have said that Carlson may have victimized more women. Anyone who may have information that could assist investigators is asked to call the Mecosta County Sheriff's Office at 231-592-0150. Tipsters can also send an email to tips@mecostacounty.org
