DETROIT (WWJ) - First responders in Detroit saved a baby boy who was born to a 13-year-old girl who didn't know she was pregnant.
Firefighters arrived at the home on Edinborough, in the area of 7 Mile and Evergreen, around 4:30 p.m. Monday after the girl's younger sister called 911 and said the child was being born in a toilet. The newborn was unresponsive on the floor when crews arrived.
The baby was given CPR and was revived. He was rushed to the hospital, along with his mother.
The child is expected to be OK; the mother's condition is unknown.
It wasn't immediately clear if police are launching an investigation into the incident.
