(WWJ) Dave Coulier, star of popular sitcoms "Full House" and then "Fuller House," announced in an Hour Detroit interview that he's relocating from Hollywood to metro Detroit.
Have mercy!
The avid hockey fan, now 60, is reportedly taking up residence along Lake St. Clair in a Frank Lloyd Wright-style house that's still under construction.
Why the move? "Living off the lake has been a longtime dream of Coulier's, and good timing is, partly, what has inspired the move now," the Hour interview says. "But it's also a desire to reconnect with the area as well as a solid sense of impulsiveness, a personality trait he says has served him well in the past.
"If you sit and hang back, the world continues traveling right by you," he said, adding that his wife Melissa, 36, was open to the move from sunny California.
The house itself is on five acres, and near the place where Coulier was born, St. Clair Shores.
"But [with> this journey, I'm back home. It's amazing," he told Hour.
Coulier is known for playing Joey Gladstone on the ABC sitcom Full House, a role he kept from 1987 to 1995 with a wacky mix of voices and impersonations. He's now part of the show's reprise and commuting from his job in Hollywood to a rental on Lake St. Clair while his show is in its fifth and final season.
After that, he says he'll be a full-time metro Detroiter. Does that mean we'll see him at Red Wings games? Odds are the answer is yes. Coulier is well known for his love of hockey -- and his past love of hockey hair, something co-star John Stamos pointed out in an Instagram post.
Does that mean Mary Kate and Ashley, possibly John Stamos, will be spotted around town? Only time will tell.
