Gunman Arrested After 2-Hour Standoff In Sterling Heights

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. (WWJ) -- A man is in custody after a tense two-hour standoff in Sterling Heights Monday evening.

Authorities tell WWJ they were called to a home in the 1400 block of Hannebauer Lane, near Clinton River and Saal Roads around 6:15 p.m. Monday on the report of a barricaded gunman. Around 8:15 p.m., the suspect attempted to flee the house with a loaded handgun, but was arrested.


The suspect is expected to be arraigned on multiple felony charges on Tuesday, police said, but did not immediately specify what the charges were.

It was not made clear what events led to the situation.

Police did not say if anyone was inside the house with the suspect, but they said there were no injuries reported.

Authorities were expected to release more details Monday night.
