DETROIT (WWJ) - Police are searching for a suspect after a man was shot while attending a candlelight vigil for a shooting victim on Detroit's east side.
The shooting happened around 2:15 a.m. Saturday in the 11000 block of Payton Street, not far from Hayes and Houston Whittier streets.
Witnesses tell police that someone in the crowd started shooting. A 24-year-old man was struck in the leg and transported to a nearby hospital. He was last reported in stable condition.
At this point, police don't have any suspects or a possible description of the gunman.
