ROCHESTER HILLS (WWJ) - A man convicted as a teenager of raping and killing three members of a Rochester Hills family, including two children, will not be getting out od prison.

Michael Kvam appeared in court Friday for a resentencing hearing as the result of a Supreme Court decision that found mandatory life sentences for juvenile offenders were unconstitutional.

He waived his right to a resentencing, telling an Oakland County judge that dying in prison is what he deserves. "There are no mitigating circumstances at all," he said adding, ""I'm a killer, plain and simple."

Kvam was 17 years old in 1984 when he was sentenced to life with no parole in the murders of 27-year-old Joann Bray, her 9-year-old daughter Chastity Bray and 15-year-old niece Wendy Lovell. All three were raped and stabbed multiple times, according to reports.

Relatives of the three victims had feared Kvam's possible release.
