MARYSVILLE, Mich. (WWJ) -- A Marysville High School student has been told to stay away from the school after YouTube video of him rapping about shooting up the school surfaced on Tuesday.
In a letter to parents, Marysville Superintendent Shawn Wightman said the threat was discovered around 2 p.m. Tuesday and Marysville Police were immediately contacted.
The student was not in school Tuesday and Wightman says the parents were notified and told that the child was not to return to the school to stay away from all other schools in the district.
It is not made clear whether the student will be disciplined by the school.
Wightman ended the letter by reassuring parents that the threat was isolated and that the school has measures in place to deal with an active shooter if one were to happen.
