(WWJ) With curbside deliveries severely limited due to availability across the state, Michigan-based Meijer delivered another blow to shoppers.

Only a limited number of shoppers will be allowed inside a store at any given time to abide by social distancing guidelines. The company announced the new policies in a press release.

Meijer will also slash sale ads to discourage shoppers heading out for bargains.

Meijer stores will also begin conducting daily health screenings and temperature checks for employees as they arrive at work, and stores are installing protective plexiglass shields at checkout lanes and pharmacies.

In response to one customer complaining that it's nearly impossible to get a time slot for curbside pick-up these days, the company wrote on Facebook, "Hi Galland - as you may imagine, there is a high demand for delivery and pickup recently, and reservations are filling up fast. Please keep checking for new openings as early as possible each day. We apologize for the difficulty, and we appreciate your patience while we're working to improve your future online shopping experience."
