(WWJ) In an update on a story that captured attention across metro Detroit, police have found a man who attempted to drop off a baby at Sinai Grace Hospital and the woman who gave birth to her.
It all happened at about 9:30 a.m. Thursday, when the man asked a person to hold the baby while he was trying to find a place to park. He placed the infant, a girl estimated to be a few hours old, in the stranger's arm.
And he never came back.
Police asked the public for help and announced Monday that both the male and the woman who gave birth to the baby before she was abandoned with a stranger have been located.
Police say the woman is doing fine. The circumstances pertaining to this incident are still under investigation. No further information is available at this time.
The man who left the baby was described as a black male, late 40's – early 50's, 5'10" – 6'2", medium brown complexion. He was last seen wearing an unknown light colored hat, light colored short sleeve shirt and light colored pants with the left leg of the pants pulled up. He was driving a silver older model Dodge Durango with a gold colored rear hatch.
No photo is available.
