DETROIT (WWJ) - Half-a-dozen people are facing charges following a big drug bust in Detroit.

According to Michigan State Police, officers with the MSP County of Macomb Enforcement Team (COMET), conducted counter drug operations that led to the six arrests on Wednesday.

Police also seized a haul of narcotics, including ecstasy, cocaine, heroin and oxycodone; plus the prescription drug promethazine and marijuana.

Two of the suspects attempted to run from the scene, police said, but they were arrested without further incident.

The names of those in custody were not immediately released as they await an arraignment.

MSP COMET is a multi agency narcotics task force made up of State Police, Chesterfield Township police and the FBI. Anyone who has a narcotics tip for Wayne, Oakland or Macomb counties is urged to submit it using the MSP app, which is available for download for free. Learn more about it HERE
