(WWJ) Michigan State Police are investigating the death of a 34-year-old man whose body was found in a ditch.
Police suspect foul play in the death of Gary Miles Pickvet Jr. of Gaylord, who went missing last weekend.
According to an acquaintance, he and Pickvet were driving on Alba Highway in Otsego County the evening of Oct 3, when Pickvet said he wanted to get out of the car.
Pickvet then ran off into the woods, according to the acquaintance, who appears to have been the last person to see Pickvet alive.
With help from the MSP Canine Team and MSP Aviation Unit, troopers and detectives discovered Pickvet's body in a ditch in Antrim County's Star Township, just west of Gaylord, Tuesday night.
Police have not said how they believed Pickvet died, and they have not announced any suspects or arrests in the case.
On Wednesday, the MSP Gaylord Post said the investigation was ongoing.
