DETROIT (WWJ) -- The search for a missing elderly man from Sterling Heights has come to an unfortunate end.
John Williams, 70, was reported missing by his wife on Valentine's Day after he left home around 10 a.m. on Feb. 13 for a medical appointment at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center on John R in Detroit and never returned.
Williams had made it to his appointment, checking in at the hospital at 1 p.m., and checking out at 1:41 p.m., but never came home.
Multiple reports say Williams was discovered in his 2002 Dodge conversion van in the area of Chalmers and Chelsea, near Outer Drive on Detroit's east side, on Monday night.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of his death.
Police said at the time of his disappearance that Williams was in good mental condition but struggled with partial paralysis on his right side from a previous stroke.
