HOLLY (WWJ) - Northbound I-75 was closed for about an hour in Oakland County Monday morning, following a crash involving funeral procession.
According to Michigan State Police, the MSP Motor Unit was assisting with a funeral escort to the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
While on I-75, north of Holly Road, a civilian motorcycle that was part of the funeral procession lost control and crashed, police said.
Two people who were on the motorcycle were injured. They were taken to a local hospital, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening
There were no other vehicles involved in the crash and no one else was hurt. It's unclear at this time what may have caused the motorcycle driver to lose control.
The investigation is ongoing.
Northbound I-75 was completely shut down while police investigated at the scene, but all lanes have since reopened. Drivers should continue to expected some residual traffic delays in the area.
