(WWJ) Crimestoppers and Warren Police teaming up to offer a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect in a deadly hit-and-run.
Police say a Warren man was walking down the street Thursday night, around 9:45, when a Ford Crown Victoria/Police Interceptor barreled toward him on Cyman, just north of Toepfer. The man threw up his arms and gestured to the Ford to slow down.
Investigators tell WWJ a man got out of the Ford and started to punch the victim over and over again. The suspect got back in his car and sped toward the man, striking him. The press release states: "As the Ford drove away, the male citizen went over the top of the car and landed on the pavement." He died later at the hospital.
The motive, and the connection between the suspect and the victim, if any, is unclear.
The suspect is described as African American, roughly 6'1 to 6'3 inches tall, 'wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, light colored pants and white gym shoes with a black sole.' Security footage of the vehicle and the suspect is pictured above.
