DETROIT (WWJ) - A Detroit police officer lost his department issued weapon when a large physical altercation broke out on the city's west side.
Officials say it happened around 9:30 p.m. Friday when a fight broke out at the Old Redford High School, on West Outer Drive along the Southfield Freeway.
During the incident, a suspect allegedly picked up the officer's department issued weapon and left the scene on foot.
The suspect is described as a 19-year-old black male with a dark complexion, 6'0" tall and 180 lbs. with braided hair. He was wearing a black jogging suit with a yellow symbol on the right side of the chest and black Air Max gym shoes.
