(WWJ) A Hamtramck man is facing multiple felony charges for allegedly threatening a judge, and fleeing police.
Zijad Talic, 41, was arraigned in 17th District Court in Redford Township Monday on one count each of Threat of Terrorism, Obstruction of Justice, Fleeing and Eluding - Third Degree and Malicious Use of a Telecommunication Device.
According to prosecutors, Talic is accused of threatening District Judge Alexis Krot, of the 31st District Court in Hamtramck, last week through texts to a third party.
Judge Krot was presiding over a felony assault case against Talic, officials said, and has since recused herself from Talic's cases.
When Hamtramck Police were told about the alleged threats, they began investigating. Then, on July 2, prosecutors say police officers tried to pull over and arrest Talic but he refused to stop, committing traffic violations as he fled.
He was arrested later the same day when he eventually stopped.
Authorities did release details about what, exactly, Talic allegedly threatened in the texts.
No one was hurt.
Bond for Talic was set at $150,000 cash. He is scheduled to appear in court again for a probable cause conference on July 20.
