MACOMB TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WWJ) -- The Macomb County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help in identifying the driver of a truck they say struck a pedestrian last month.
The sheriff's office says around 7 p.m. on Dec. 30, deputies responded to the area of 23 Mile Road and North Avenue in Macomb Township on the report of a crash involving a pedestrian. A pedestrian was attempting to cross the intersection when they were struck by a truck.
Police posted blurry photos of the truck to Facebook, but noted, "the description is better than the photos -- please read and share!"
The truck is described as an older, lifted, dark colored, single cab Dodge Ram pick up truck with what is believed to be camouflage paint or wrap all over the vehicle. Police said the pattern could also be from dirt.
Authorities say the truck should be missing the passenger's side mirror and a front fender.
There are two flags flying from the back of the truck bed -- an American flag and a yellow Gadsden ("Don't Tread On Me") flag.
Police describe the driver of the truck as a white male, approximately 6-feet-tall, with an average build. The driver is believed to be 20-to-30 years old, with brown hair.
Anyone who recognizes the truck or has information about the crash is asked to contact Detective Howell at 586-307-9435.
