(WWJ) A Detroit man has been charged in a downtown Ferndale shooting, following a months-long investigation.
Tauheed Wilder, 37, was arraigned in 43rd District Court Wednesday on a slew of felonies, and one misdemeanor in connection with the incident back on August 30, 2019.
Police said two Detroit resident were shot: a 37-year-old man who was critically injured, but survived, and a 36-year-old man was treated for a gunshot wound to his hand. Evidence markers at the scene indicated about a dozen shots were fired.
Ferndale detectives spent several months investigating this incident and compiling evidence. Eventually, the case was presented to the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office and only Wilder — a patron who had been previously ejected from the lounge — was charged.
No Bosco employees were charged with any offense as a result of this investigation, officials noted.
Wilder is facing the following charges:
- Assault with a dangerous weapon, 2 counts, felony
- Felon in possession of a firearm,1 count, felony
- felony firearm, second offense, 4 counts, felony
- Carrying a concealed weapon,1 count, felony
- Felon in possession of ammunition, 1 count, felony
- Assault and battery, 1 count, misdemeanor
Bond was set at $75,000 and Wilder's next court appearance was schedule for May 28.
