(WWJ) A Novi man is behind bars, charged with possessing child pornography.
Michigan State Police (MSP) say they received a tip early this year that Andrew Keith, 27, had more than 50,000 files of child pornography. An execution of a search warrant in his home resulted in Keith's arrest, according to MSP.
MSP and Novi Police took Keith into custody on Thursday, September 10. He was arraigned the next day on five counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and five counts of using a computer to commit a crime.
He was given a $25,000 bond and is currently at the Oakland County Jail.
MSP's Computer Crimes Unit urges parents and guardians to talk to their children about internet safety. The MSP Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and The Center For Missing and Exploited Children have long lists of resources available for both adults and children/adolescents to help with the discussion about staying safe online.
