DETROIT (WWJ) - A $2,500 reward is being offered for tips in a broad daylight murder in Southwest Detroit.
Authorities say 28-year-old Tiffany Nichole Wallen of Belleville was found dead in an alley at Michigan Ave, and Military St. on Saturday, Sept. 7.
She was killed at around 4:50 p.m. that day, according to investigators, suffering stab wounds to her throat.
Police said the slaying was believed to be over $60 Wallen owed to a drug dealer; her family telling WDIV-TV that she was using drugs while coping with depression following her sister's death.
Wallen left behind three children, according to an online obituary.
"Tiffany loved spending time outdoors whether it was running, playing soccer or just reading on the porch," the obituary reads. "She had a vibrant spirit, dreamed big and was full of life. Anyone who was around her felt welcomed and loved."
Commenting on a memorial page for Wallen, a friend wrote: "Tiffany had the kindest soul of anyone I've met. Anyone who met her knows the world lost one of its more beautiful residents."
