Michigan State Police say a man driving in the local lanes of westbound I-96, near the Southfield Freeway (M-39), had his car hit by a bullet at around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

According to investigators, the suspect's vehicle pulled alongside the victim's and someone inside and fired a single shot from a handgun, hitting the victim's car.

A fresh bullet hole was found in the driver side door of the victim's vehicle, police said. There were no injuries.

The victim, who drove to a gas station to report the shooting., told troopers he knows the shooter and said this isn't their first incident.

Later in the afternoon, police were looking for the gunman.

No description of the suspect or his vehicle were immediately released.

This comes after, on Tuesday a man driving on eastbound I-94 near Michigan Avenue reported having shots fired at him.  State Police made three arrests in that case. Also, early Monday morning, a 37-year-old woman was shot and killed while in a car that was on the I-75 ramp to 8 Mile Rd.
