Suspect In Red Hoodie Wanted In Overnight Shooting On West Side

DETROIT (WWJ) - Police in Detroit are searching for a suspect who was wearing a red hoodie when he shot a man during a robbery attempt on the city's west side.

The incident happened around 1:40 a.m. Saturday in the 9300 block of Kentucky, near W. Chicago and Wyoming Avenue.

According to police, the 28-year-old victim was walking down the street when he was approached by a suspect who announced a robbery, then fired shots, striking him in the body.

The suspect fled northbound on Kentucky on foot and remains at large. He's described as a black male, last seen wearing a black beanie, red hooded sweatshirt and black pants.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and was last reported in stable condition.

The incident remains under investigation.
