(WWJ) The proprietors of a Northern Macomb County hardware store are thanking the public for stepping up to help bust a thief.
Stones Ace Hardware in Romeo on Wednesday shared some security camera photos of a man whom it's alleged shoplifted from the store both on Aug. 28 and 29.
Most recently management said he stole several bags of expensive grass seed, getting away with around $100 worth of merchandise which he loaded into a burgundy Buick SUV.
"We hope to stop this thief from stealing from other local business in and around Romeo," the store said.
Less than 24 hours after asking for help to identify the man, he was arrested.
"After receiving several phone calls this morning this suspect has been caught," the store said Thursday. "Thank you Romeo Police department with assisting us with this! Big thank you to any of those who called in this morning to provide tips, without you he would've never been caught. Our store couldn't be more thankful to service such a great community."
Expected charges are pending.
