WALLED LAKE, Mich, (WWJ) -- The first legal recreational marijuana sale in Oakland County is set to happen in just over two weeks.
The Greenhouse was Oakland County's first dispensary to get approved for a license to sell recreational pot, and now they will officially start selling adult use recreational marijuana on Saturday, March 14.
The dispensary had been waiting to launch recreationally to make sure they would still be able to serve their medical patients. The dispensary is keeping a medical section entirely separate from their recreational products to make sure medical customers will not have to wait any longer or worry about running out of product. There will be separate lines for medical and recreational customers, and medical orders can still be placed online.
Greenhouse officials made the announcement on Facebook Thursday, saying the grand opening will feature food trucks, all kinds of vendors and other surprises.
Voters in the state of Michigan decided to legalize adult use of recreational marijuana statewide in November 2018. Legal sales officially began in December 2019 after a licensing application process.
The Greenhouse is located at 103. E. Walled Lake Drive, just east of S. Pontiac Trail.
