WATERFORD TWP. (WWJ) - Waterford police say they're investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in a burning house as a homicide.

The victim, believed to be in her 50s, was found by firefighters working to extinguish a smoldering fire at the home, at 40 N. Lynn Street, Tuesday morning.

Police said Wednesday they're working with the Oakland County Medical Examiner to confirm the victim's identity. They are not saying how it's believe she was killed or why they think she was murdered.

As far as suspects in the case, police said they are looking for a man who was seen at the home on Tuesday, as well as several times in the past.

Witnesses told investigators the man -- described as a black male, around 25 to 35 years old, with a long face and nose -- had been cutting the grass at the home.

He was seen driving an older-model white, rusted mini-van, and police believe he may provide lawn cutting services to others in the area.

As the investigation continues, police are asking for the public's help in identifying and locating the man and the vehicle.
