HARRISON TWP. (WWJ) - A Macomb County woman is facing charges for alleged attacks on three family members — including one who is disabled.
According to a police report, one victim told officers that during an argument last week at a home in Harrison Township, her mother attempted to stab her with a pencil, then bit her hand. The victim said she also found her sister, who uses a wheelchair, covered in urine and her mother standing over her with a knife.
The second victim told police that their mother took "a full container of urine" from their mentally disabled uncle and threw it all over her, calling her a, "crippled b—." She said her mother slid a knife against the back of her neck, causing a small but visible cut.
A third alleged victim, the suspect's granddaughter, also reported she was stabbed with a pencil and scratched, according to prosecutors.
The 56-year-old Harrison Township woman was arrested at the scene.
"As prosecutor, I have taken my role seriously in protecting people in our special needs community, and this case is no different," said Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith, in a statement. "We will also be asking that this defendant receive a mental health evaluation."
The defendant was arraigned in 41B District Court in Clinton Township Tuesday on one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, a four-year felony, and three misdemeanor counts of domestic violence. Her name has not yet been released.
The ages of the alleged victims were not provided.
A next scheduled court hearing in this case is a probable cause conference set for Feb. 26.
