DETROIT (WWJ) - A gunman remains at large after shooting a woman and her infant on Detroit's west side.
The shooting happened just after 7 p.m. Tuesday at a home on Freeland Street, in the area of the Lodge Freeway and McNichols Road.
Police say the 23-year-old woman was holding her 1-month-old baby when she answered a knock at the door and someone started shooting.
The woman was struck in the body and taken to the hospital in critical condition. The baby received a graze wound and is expected to recover.
The suspect fled the scene and remains at large. He's described as a black man who was wearing a black mask.
