ROYAL OAK (WWJ) - Drivers along I-75 in Oakland County could see a slowdown during their morning commute Tuesday due to emergency pothole repair.

The Michigan Department of Transportation says patching crews will be out starting between 8:30 and 9 a.m. along northbound I-75 from 12 Mile to Crooks roads. Delays are expected as one lane will be closed at a time.

Just spoke to the fine staff at the Troy garage. We expect to be on NB 75 around 9 am & will start at 11 Mile and head north to Coolidge. The bulk of the work is between 12 MIle and Crooks. We anticipate being in the left 2 lanes; however, mostly 1 lane closed. Thx!

Craig Bryson, with the Road Commission for Oakland County, said the extreme cold was causing "havoc with patchwork along the roads."

The freeway was closed between I-696 and M-59 for several hours Monday evening after multiple vehicles suffered flat tires in the area earlier in the day.

MDOT says because of the recent freezing and thawing, the previous patched potholes will come loose and the issue will be ongoing.
