(WWJ) "It still hasn't sunk in that we won," says a Monroe County woman, who won a whopping $2 million playing the Michigan Lottery's 100X The Cash instant game.
The player chose to receive her winnings as a one-time lump sum payment of about $1.2 million, rather than annuity payments for the full amount, claiming the prize at Lottery headquarters last week.
She said plans to invest her winnings and continue working, adding: "This will provide a nice financial cushion for us."
Players have won more than $25 million playing 100X The Cash, which launched in December 2018. Each $20 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $20 up to $2 million. In 2017, Lottery players won more than $960 million playing instant games.
Remember, about 97 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to vendors and retailers.
Instant game ticket may be purchased at 11,000 retailers in Michigan. Get more information at www.michiganlottery.com.
