DETROIT (WWJ) - Two people, including a Michigan State Police trooper, suffered minor injuries in a crash that shut down I-94 for a couple of hours Saturday morning.
State Police say dispatch got a call from a trooper, at around 5:10 a.m., that his patrol car had just been hit on the freeway, and the trooper requested an ambulance.
The trooper was taken by EMS to Detroit Receiving Hospital, complaining of soreness but sustaining no apparent serious injuries.
The suspected impaired driver was also taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said. When he's released, the driver will be processed and lodged at the Detroit Detention Center to await expected charges. His name, age and other information have not uet been released.
"Just another reminder to not drive impaired and Move Over," MSP said, in a news release.
The freeway was closed at the scene for approximately two hours for the investigation following the crash, but has since reopened to traffic,
