DETROIT (WWJ) - After several days of sunny skies, Metro Detroit could get a taste of severe weather Tuesday when thunderstorms hit the area.
Forecasters say the greatest severe weather potential will be between 2 and 11 p.m. Threats include wind gusts up to 50-60 mph and heavy rainfall. Hail up to one inch may also be possible, but damaging winds and flooding of low lying locations will be the main threats.
Chances for thunderstorms will exist through the end of the week, but there is low confidence in coverage of thunderstorms from day to day. Stay up to date with the latest forecast as changes will be possible throughout the week.

Tuesday -- Strong thunderstorms, mainly later; storms can bring flooding and damaging winds. High 87. Low 71.
Wednesday -- Intervals of clouds and sunshine, a shower or thunderstorm around; humid. High 84. Low 68.
Thursday -- Times of clouds and sun, warm and humid; an afternoon shower or thunderstorm around. High 88. Low 72.
Friday -- Times of clouds and sun, a couple of showers and a thunderstorm; warm and humid. High 89. Low 71.
Saturday -- Times of clouds and sun; humid. High 85. Low 65.
